We are seeking to fill seven administrative assistant positions in the Central Office Region.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidates would assist with: all aspects of NYS prescription program, paper and electronic; prescribed education, issuing controlled substance licenses to healthcare facilities, processing drug destruction requests from healthcare facilities, providing guidance to pharmacies with submission of dispensed prescription data, and capturing complaints to ensure that health and safety standards are met and protect the public health by combating the illegal use and trafficking of prescription controlled substances. Candidates should be dependable, highly-motivated individuals and able to work in a fast paced, high volume office environment.
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Minimum qualifications include excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel; the ability to work on a team and handle multiple, shifting priorities; good organizational skills; ability to correspond with healthcare professionals; and familiarity working in electronic databases. Preferred qualifications include familiarity and knowledge of varied healthcare entities, including pharmacies, practitioners and healthcare institutions; familiarity and knowledge of the Health Commerce System; and prior experience working in a New York State Health Department secure, confidential law enforcement environment. Duties include performing administrative support responsibilities such as maintaining various tracking and database systems, preparing letters and reports, answering phone lines, receiving and processing mail and fax documents; faxing and photocopying; data entry and maintaining paper and electronic filing systems.
