Tatum's client, a private-equity owned $200+ million in revenue women's fashion retailer, is in search of an Interim CFO for a 3-6 month engagement. This Interim CFO project main focus will be to stabilize the Company's Finance & Accounting. Our client curates a portfolio of women's designer clothing and accessories and utilizes its own e-commerce channel as well as retail locations throughout the country.

responsibilities:
This company is a carve-out of a much larger retailer. The Interim CFO will lead several large initiatives:
1) Finish the transition of a shared services Accounting prior to the carve out to stand up a new Accounting and Finance Department.
2) Oversee the implementation of WorkDay for HR & Accounting
3) Mentor the Controller that joined company 8 months ago
4) Interim CFO will support the following activities:
- Understand the business needs for accounting and finance
- Support with documenting the state accounting processes, procedures and system functionality - Currently outside consultants are doing this.
- Finish the roll out of WorkDay accounting and financial reporting functionality
qualifications:
Interim CFO must be effective in the transition of the carve-out that is still recent to the new CFO identified in the on going search.
- Experience with carve outs and establishing accounting and finance functions and teams from scratch is a plus. Although much has already been done, there are some things that need to be completed.
- Must bring a high level of confidence in building the function combined with high energy
- Current expectation is that an interim CFO is needed for next 3-6 months while perm CFO is identified
- Standing up a new function; as well as have experience in PE-owned environments, retail/e-commerce, and proficiency in Workday.
- Active CPA
- 10+ years of experience, combined between public accounting and private/industry
- Experience developing and implementing policies, procedures, and systems from the ground up
- Experience transitioning from shared services to an internal function
