job summary: JOB SUMMARY: The Project Manager-2 is accountable for managing multiple large, complex projects and programs. The role is responsible for managing the execution of strategic and tactical projects as they pertain to the design, planning, testing, implementation, and integration in a rapidly evolving IT environment. This individual will utilize our standard project management processes and methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and adhere to customer expectations. The Project Manager-2 will be responsible for achieving project objectives and overseeing quality control for Information Services projects throughout their entire life-cycle. Additionally, the Project Manager-2 will be an active participant on the IS PMO, assisting with resource planning and ensuring the IS standard project methodologies are being followed throughout IS. Each project will follow SH IS PMO standard project management methodologies and be maintained by the project manager to assure all projects are implemented on-time, in-scope, and under budget. MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES / CRITICAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Project Management Performs stakeholder analysis to assess stakeholder readiness, develops a comprehensive project plan/timeline in the project management tool, and requests resources from IS functional managers needed to complete tasks per the timeline needs. Develops project scope and detailed timeline to ensure project deliverables are achieved in accordance with business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. Creates and executes project timeline in the Project management software tool. If revisions are needed, brings change requests to as appropriate, to meet changing needs and requirements. Plans and schedules project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools. Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities. Delegates tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel. Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope. Liaise with project stakeholders on a regular basis. Maintain all appropriate project deliverables and responsibilities; for example, project scheduling, risk management, change management, issue management and status reporting. Oversee all aspects of execution, including identifying and solving problems that would otherwise delay project and or milestone achievement. Effectively applies our methodology and enforces project standards. Ensures Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are followed. Identifies and manages project dependencies and critical path. Assists in the resolution of issues and elimination of roadblocks arising within a project to ensure timely completion of tasks. Ensures project documents are complete, current, stored and tracked appropriately as per IS PMO direction. The Project Manager-2 will ultimately be responsible for the assuring the projects are on-budget, on-time and delivered with the expected value to the stakeholders. Project Management Documentation and Reporting Tracks, updates and reports project status, tasks percentage complete, timelines, project logs and monitors/reports out on team hours (through use of PM tool dashboards) as per project reporting schedules. Communication Holds regular status meetings with project team. Facilitates project meetings effectively. Keeps project team well informed of changes and effectively communicates relevant project information to superiors; sends status updates regularly. Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion through IS PMO and PM tool. Technical Understanding Possesses understanding of applications being implemented. Understands interfaces, infrastructure, thin client and client/server architectures and adjusts project plan for additional or different tasks that need to be completed based on the model. Clinical Understanding Has ability to document current state and future state clinical workflows with and without the product or technology being considered as part of project. Can build rapport with clinical team and explain technical items in plain language. QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.Healthcare business processes and application knowledge necessary to support those processes within an integrated delivery network experience required. Minimum of 8 years of progressive work experience and a proven track record in the implementation and management of large diverse and complex, workflow-driven health information technology projects.Six (6) years of healthcare project management experience.
