A registered investment adviser in the hedge, private equity, and venture space seeks a Controller. This firm employs a fundamentally-driven strategy with an emphasis on small- and mid-cap investments. The sector focus is concentrated in the areas of TMT, Fintech, Consumer, Business Services, and Government Services. Based in the Washington DC area the firm has a team of professionals from top hedge fund and private equity pedigrees that value geographic and behavioral independence in their approach. The Controller will lead all non-investment operations.

Management of all financial functions including:
? Management company financials, budgeting, and reporting
? Management company tax filings and planning
? Director of operations and operations associate
? Daily shadow reconciliation of all fund vehicles
? Internal controls and processes
? Performance and risk reporting
? Investor communications
? Capital activity including subscriptions, redemptions, capital calls
? Month-end reporting
? Annual audit and tax functions
? Year end private company valuation process
? Third-party advisors including, legal, audit, tax, admin, and other advisors
? Review of legal documentation
? Payroll processing
Management of other non-investment functions including:
? Office administration
? IT administration
? Cyber security
? Human resources
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of accounting experience working in the alternative investment/hedge fund/private equity space. CPA or MBA is highly preferred. Leadership and management experience is also required.
