responsibilities:
- Molecular Analysis: Execute high-complexity molecular testing and specimen processing in strict alignment with department SOPs and clinical protocols.
- Quality & Compliance: Lead QC/QA activities, ensuring all instrument calibrations, procedural validations, and maintenance records meet CLIA, HIPAA, and OSHA standards.
- Data Integrity: Review and release sensitive molecular test results, ensuring meticulous documentation of proficiency testing and corrective actions when deviations occur.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Proactively identify and resolve analytical issues; document all corrective measures and escalate critical system failures to senior leadership as required.
- Client Consultation: Serve as a technical resource for clients and internal departments, providing professional communication regarding STAT results or critical diagnostic findings.
- Operational Readiness: Manage the lifecycle of reagents and test kits (receipt, opening, and expiration tracking) and maintain a state of constant readiness for government or regulatory inspections.

Required:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Biology (with 1 year of high-complexity clinical lab experience) OR a BS/Associate's degree in Medical Technology/Laboratory Science.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong foundational knowledge of molecular laboratory testing, QC/QA workflows, and the ability to adapt quickly to diverse LIS/computer systems.
- Certification: Eligibility for national certification as an MT / MLT from a recognized organization (ASCP or AMT).
- Compliance: Deep understanding of regulatory standards for high-complexity testing (42 CFR 493.1433).
- Logistics: Must provide original transcripts (US-educated) or a detailed IERF credential evaluation (foreign-educated).
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology.
- Experience: 1+ years of direct experience in a Molecular Diagnostics clinical setting.
- Licensure: Active National and State licensure where applicable.
- Skills: Demonstrated ability to handle multiple complex procedures simultaneously while maintaining a high degree of focus and patient confidentiality.
