- Responsible for operating and maintaining flow cytometry analyzers and cell sorters, including instrument setup, quality control, monitoring runs, and routine maintenance. Designs and optimizes multiparameter panels for conventional and full-spectrum cytometry. Provides user training and support in a high-throughput shared lab environment while ensuring compliance with BSL-2+ safety standards.

responsibilities:
- The worker will support flow cytometry operations, including:
- Cell sorting support
- Starting up and shutting down cytometers
- Monitoring cell sorts during operation
- Instrument cleaning and routine maintenance
- Monthly maintenance involving fluidics/PBS/saline systems
- Supporting analyzer-only cytometers
- Troubleshooting clogs or instrument issues
- Helping users complete experiments successfully
- Proactively checking in with scientists and lab users
- The role includes manual/physical work, including handling cytometer waste up to approximately 25 pounds.
qualifications:
- Doctorate degree OR Masters degree and 2 years of experience OR Bachelors degree and 4 years of experience
- Flow cytometry experience
- Cell sorting experience
- Experience with analyzers and sorters
- Familiarity with conventional and spectral cytometry
- Basic troubleshooting of cytometer issues
- Comfort supporting users in a shared-resource or service-based lab
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work with scientists under time-sensitive situations
- Proactive, service-oriented mindset
