We are seeking a highly skilled Aftermarket Field Support Engineer to provide specialized technical services for our metal recycling equipment portfolio across North America. This role involves supporting both existing equipment and new projects, offering hands-on installation, maintenance, and commissioning services. The ideal candidate will also collaborate with various departments to address customer needs and improve product and process efficiency.

responsibilities:
- Provide specialized knowledge in equipment maintenance, operations, troubleshooting, and incident management.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance for electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
- Document functional deviations in machines installed at customer sites.
- Offer hands-on service during equipment installation, start-up, and commissioning, ensuring safety and compliance with project requirements.
- Support the Supply Chain department with supplier development and project activities.
- Assist the Sales/After-sales department in identifying spare parts and reviewing engineering drawings.
- Attend internal and external meetings to support customer design requirements.
- Collaborate with the After-sales team to review the scope of engineering projects and communicate potential challenges.
- Provide field expertise, including engineering work requests, redlines, and revisions.
- Support Product Management by standardizing and harmonizing select product portfolios.
- Contribute to sales and service proposals.
- Comply with company Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and practices.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical assistance and on-site support.
- Proficiency in reading and understanding mechanical drawings.
- Ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic diagrams is preferred.
- Experience with troubleshooting via remote connection.
- Solid verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (up to 50%-60% of the time).
- Valid driver's license (Class C).
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office and CAD programs.
- Oral and written proficiency in Spanish.
- Experience using IT tools, CRM (Salesforce), and ERP systems (SAP).
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLC) and HMI systems (e.g., Siemens S7/TIA, AB-Rockwell).
- Experience with metal recycling or material handling equipment is a plus.
