A Electronics Technician is needed for a global power leader in the Columbus, IN area. This job is responsible for supporting lab operations by setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting HIL test systems and electronic equipment, while managing work orders, developing custom test hardware, and contributing to lab improvements and documentation.

responsibilities:
- Support Controls Lab operations related to test systems and lab setups.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software and hardware issues in test systems/equipment.
- Perform hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) system setup, maintenance, and calibration.
- Monitor and act on Work Orders submitted during night shift using a work order tracking system.
- Execute work orders assigned by the lab manager, both before and during the shift.
- Support setup and setup changes for HIL test benches and associated equipment.
- Install and configure lab software tools (e.g., CyberApps, LUIS configurations, support sequences).
- Modify test bench wiring harnesses and create connections for sensors, instruments, and engine components (e.g., IAT, EGR, VGT).
- Maintain system configuration records (hardware, serial numbers, card types, etc.).
- Document and maintain CAN panel configurations.
- Perform scheduled harness maintenance and ensure timely updates with the concerned teams.
- Configure and maintain actuator carts and power supply setups.
- Handle general lab maintenance and organization duties.
- Support custom test hardware development (e.g., ROM boot setups, harnesses, power integration).
- Conduct and support electronic test development and documentation.
- Perform equipment hardware checkouts and track returns.
- Collaborate with Hardware Engineers on project-related tasks.
- Contribute to daily troubleshooting and the development of troubleshooting guides.
- Assist with training materials and provide training support.
- Help maintain lab inventory and contribute to overall lab upkeep.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements.
