A Life Safety Systems Designer is needed for an engineering consulting company in Portland, OR, Austin, TX, Fort Worth, TX, or Pittsburgh, PA areas. This Designer role with 3-5 years of AutoCAD/Revit experience needed to design Security, Access Control, and Intrusion systems for advanced industrial facilities using BIM and applying relevant NFPA/ICC codes.

responsibilities:
- The role is a Life Safety Systems (Security) Designer for advanced facilities (semiconductor, data center, manufacturing).
- Perform computer-aided drafting and design of Life Safety and Security Systems.
- Responsible for delivering complex design packages in coordination with multi-discipline teams.
- Utilize AutoCAD and Revit MEP to create a 3D model space (BIM).
- Design Security Surveillance, Access Control, and Intrusion detection systems within the BIM models.
- Perform calculations, apply NFPA and ICC codes and standards, and specify equipment under engineering direction.
- Commit to supporting and engaging with Global Integrated Delivery (GID) teams.
- Requires curiosity, multi-tasking, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of IFC, IBC, NFPA 70, NFPA 101 Life Safety Code, and NFPA 72 Fire Alarm and Signaling Code is ideal.
- Knowledge of Security systems and manufacturer's equipment is ideal.
- Industrial design experience is ideal.
- Required systems design experience in Security Surveillance, Access Control, and Intrusion detection systems.
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- 3-5 years of AutoCAD experience (preferably Revit experience) required.
- NICET Security certification required.
- ASIS International Advanced Security Worldwide required.
