A Quality Technician is needed for a multinational corporation that produces mirrors as well as a variety of construction, high-performance, and other materials in the Poestenkill, NY area. This role involves supporting quality system compliance (ISO, regulations), performing material/product inspection and disposition, assisting production with quality standards, and contributing to various quality projects on a long-term temporary basis.

responsibilities:
The Quality Technician will implement, maintain, control, and monitor quality systems and standards to assess and approve materials and products at all production stages, ensuring compliance with:
- Corporate quality policies.
- Applicable regulatory requirements.
- ISO requirements.
- Customer specifications/expectations.
- Sampling and Testing: Accurately samples and tests both incoming raw materials and outgoing finished goods using established specifications and laboratory and manufacturing equipment.
- Inspection and Disposition: Responsible for timely sampling, inspection, data evaluation, and determination of acceptability (Acceptable, Hold, Reject) for finished goods, work-in-process, and raw materials.
- Communication & Assistance: Communicates product quality standards to production personnel and assists them in achieving those standards, which may involve running manufacturing machinery to monitor quality.
- Record Keeping: Files and maintains organized Quality records.
- Lab Maintenance: Maintains a safe, neat, and organized Lab and Lab equipment.
The candidate will support the following activities:
- Quality Projects (Complaint Reduction, Product Quality Improvements).
- Audits and Quality System Transition.
- Calibration.
- Complaint handling.
- CAPA/Event (Corrective Action/Preventive Action).
- Nonconforming material control/handling.
Minimum Education: High school diploma.
Desired Education: AS in Chemistry or related field is desirable; a Bachelor's degree is a plus.
- Note: A B.S Degree is desirable is also mentioned specifically for the Quality Project support role.
Skills Desired: Laboratory skills.
Highly Desirable Skills: strong project management and systems knowledge.
