Substation Electrical Engineer is needed for a major EPC firm in Austin, TX. This role will lead electrical design project teams to create world class designs for new projects. The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead the project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting electrical plans according to budget constraints, design factors or client needs. Will need substation experience and this is an oniste role.

responsibilities:
- Lead End-to-End Electrical Design: Drive the electrical design process for projects from concept through completion, ensuring alignment with project requirements, codes, and finding non-standard design solutions for complex challenges.
- Manage Specifications and Procurement: Prepare and review technical specifications for electrical and packaged equipment (RFQ's, data sheets, bid summaries) and review vendor drawings to ensure quality and compliance.
- Project Leadership & Management: Participate in developing the project schedule, scope, budget, and construction planning, with specific responsibility for effective management of change orders and reporting project performance/cost estimates.
- Quality Assurance (QA/QC) & Field Support: Lead the quality review of production drawings (CAD), ensure adherence to the QA/QC process, and provide construction administration by resolving field installation issues and performing field inspections/testing.
- Technical Expertise & Mentorship: Apply expert knowledge of electrical concepts, practices, and codes, while simultaneously providing leadership, guidance, and instruction to less experienced electrical engineers.
- Business Development & Client Relations: Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, contractors, and customers, and actively participate in sales, marketing, and developing cost proposals to meet financial performance targets.
