A Process Engineer is needed for a manufacturing company considered one of the world's leading innovators in materials science in the Hemlock, MI area. This role is for a hands-on Engineer focused on rapid equipment installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting in a solar wafer manufacturing plant, requiring strong technical expertise, analytical problem-solving, and collaboration skills to ensure successful startup and documentation.

responsibilities:
- Responsible for providing hands-on support identifying and implementing solutions to equipment issues during start up and commissioning.
- Work within a Solar wafer manufacturing plant.
- Main focus is equipment installation and startup of multiple lines in rapid succession.
- May be required to work off shifts.
- Requires effective technical leadership, organization, and planning skills.
- Must handle changing priorities.
- Requires creative/innovative problem solving.
- Experience in successfully completing projects in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated technical expertise in equipment installation, debug, startup, and troubleshooting.
- Assist and support team in the execution of equipment start-up (setting up equipment, collecting data, making modifications).
- Provide feedback and suggestions to improve equipment and product quality.
- Support problem-solving in manufacturing, including root cause identification and resolution.
- Apply knowledge of engineering principles and methods to resolve challenges.
- Demonstrate personal use of engineering tools and methodologies to understand and address root causes.
- Ensure safe work practices.
- Mandarin speaking is a plus.
- BS in mechanical, electrical, chemical, or industrial engineering is strongly preferred.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience required, 5+ years preferred.
