A Controls Engineer is needed for a world leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives in the Alpharetta, GA area. This Controls Engineer role specializing in designing, programming, and validating Human Machine Interface (HMI) software for generator control switchgear.

responsibilities:
- Designs, develops, installs, and maintains equipment for monitoring and controlling engineering systems.
- Assists in creating and following the electrical design schedule from concept to system completion.
- Performs testing, evaluating, modifying, and calibrating products and instruments.
- Analyzes plant processes and designs/implements improvements.
- Troubleshoots hardware and process issues.
- Performs technical calculations for design, including electrical requirements, robotic safety, and motor controls.
- Ensures all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed.
- Executes engineering for design and development of technologies, components, and HMI (Human Machine Interface) applications for generator control switchgear.
- Designs, modifies, writes, and implements software programming for HMI applications.
- Configures, programs, and tests HMI hardware.
- Must have required HMI software experience (e.g., Factory Talk, RSView, Vijeo, Crimson, Kepware).
- Desired programming experience includes VBA Scripting, Javascript, HTML, C++, SQL, and Python.
- Must use a structured approach to analyzing and resolving technical problems.
- Requires continual learning, pursuing new technical assignments, and managing 3-4 concurrent activities..
- Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Manufacturing, or Mechanical) preferred.
- Requires 0-2 years of experience (or 1-3 years with a degree, or a 2-year degree with 4+ years of experience).
