A Field Service Engineer is needed for an international biosciences company which supplies products for the life sciences industry in the Richmond, VA area. The Field Service Engineer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of water purification systems in the field, requiring technical proficiency (mechanical/electrical) professional communication, detailed documentation.

responsibilities:
- Responsible for installation, repair, preventative maintenance (PM), and qualification of water purification systems.
- Provide backup support to neighboring territories as required.
- Execute timely professional service (e.g., PMs on time, installs within two weeks, repairs quickly).
- Respect customer on-site rules and maintain good housekeeping.
- Accurately and detailedly complete Work Orders and related documentation daily.
- Provide customers with appropriate documentation (Service Report, Meter Verification Report, etc.).
- Maintain an accurate daily schedule for internal visibility and customer communication.
- Maintain physical consignment inventory according to SOP.
- Maintain tools and test equipment in proper working order and calibration.
- Generate leads for new sales via the current CRM tool.
- Maintain timely, courteous, effective, and professional communications with all customers and staff.
- Proficient with tools and test equipment (hand tools, power tools, meters, test boxes).
- Requires Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have the ability to handle difficult customers and situations.
- Requires Basic IT skills (computer communication, software uploading, use of iPad/iPhone).
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently is required.
- Requires an Associate's Degree in Electrical/Electronic or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical degree/experience (Electronics background desired) or
- High School diploma/GED with 3+ years of field service or skilled trade experience.
- Minimum 1 year of field service or applicable skilled trades experience is required.
