responsibilities:
- Manage all field operations for large, complex high-rise projects.
- Oversee subcontractor performance to ensure quality work completed on schedule.
- Coordinate daily with the Project Manager to align field activities with project goals.
- Lead all project start-up and close-out tasks.
- Maintain and organize all project contract documents.
- Mentor and support the development of junior Superintendents and field staff.
- Assist in preparing and maintaining the construction schedule with subcontractor input.
- Support implementation of the final project budget.
- Conduct subcontractor pre-construction meetings and participate in regular coordination meetings.
- Produce and distribute essential project documentation, including daily reports, three-week look-ahead schedules, safety reports, incident documentation, and delivery records.
- Drive project schedules and ensure proper field layout and sequencing.
- Identify and resolve on-site issues, escalating when needed.
- Enforce all on-site quality control, safety, and emergency procedures.
- Actively engage in the project safety program by promoting safe practices, addressing hazards, and applying training.
- Provide ongoing support and resources to ensure safety and health performance.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 10+ years of construction industry experience, ideally with a general contractor.
- High rise construction experience (10+ stories, or 8+ with curtain wall systems).
- Mass timber project experience preferred.
- Proven ability to lead and manage on-site project teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with construction technology and project tools; experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Texterra (or similar scheduling software), and Power BI preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of commercial construction means and methods, LEED concepts, and industry standards.
- Professional, customer-focused approach with integrity and sound decision-making.
- Solutions-driven mindset with a history of delivering high-quality project results.
- Ability to travel periodically as project needs require.
