A Systems Engineer is needed for an American multinational healthcare company that primarily focuses on products to treat kidney disease, and other chronic and acute medical conditions, in the Round Lake, IL area. This role requires a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and over three years of experience to lead the design and execution of manufacturing control systems, specifically utilizing Rockwell Automation software, PLC programming, and HMI systems to manage complex automation projects and cross-functional teams.

responsibilities:
- Schedules and leads a team through the planning and execution of smaller projects or specific segments of larger projects with minimal guidance.
- Constructs detailed and accurate project schedules while interfacing with development and technical support groups.
- Develops large scale PLC programs, HMI systems, vision systems, and servo systems independently.
- Interfaces with design, engineering, technicians, plant personnel, and external vendors to ensure successful fabrication of manufacturing equipment.
- Contributes to cost estimating for control engineering portions of major capital budgets and monitors project spending.
- Prioritizes multiple tasks and responsibilities across various projects simultaneously.
- Improves department processes and advances standardization related to controls technology and programming.
- Investigates field issues to develop, evaluate, and implement design improvements.
- Coordinates and indirectly supervises engineers and technicians on assigned work tasks.
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Experience working in or actively supporting a dynamic manufacturing operation.
- Knowledge of basic principles across various engineering disciplines.
- Proven ability to effectively run projects and direct the activities of technical staff.
- Understanding of electrical and pneumatic systems for manufacturing equipment.
- Experience with electrical control system design and relevant CAD software such as Solidworks Electrical.
- Proficiency in Rockwell Automation Software including RSLogix 5000 or Studio 5000 and HMI Systems like FactoryTalk View Studio.
- Experience with robotic programming for Fanuc, Omron, or Staubli and vision systems like Cognex.
- Ability to communicate and persuade customers and management on recommended actions using written and verbal methods.
- Capacity to facilitate and operate within cross functional teams with minimal assistance.
- Ability to provide technical solutions that align with business objectives and cost implications.
