responsibilities:
Job Purpose
Responsible for driving the movement of material through the fab for their respective toolset, downstream set, and upstream set. This includes wafer handling, and processing wafers on semiconductor tools.
Essential Responsibilities

- Follows documented work standards and process specifications
- Process wafers through various computerized equipment, such as chemical baths, furnaces, film deposition, metal evaporation, and photolithography, for their respective toolset
- Carefully handles and transports product
- Visually inspects wafers and die for defects
- Assists in staging material and setting up next shift for success
- Provides technical support in the form of troubleshooting, diagnostics, adjustments, repair, modifications, assembly, and calibration of equipment according to specifications, blueprints, manuals, or written instructions
- Supports engineering with timely communication on results, issues, and bottleneck management.
- Troubleshoots issues to diagnose root cause and recommend appropriate temporary and permanent solutions
- Maintains accurate logs of work performed, modifications, calibrations, and adjustments

Work Environment
90+% of day is spent in the Fab, which a temperature-controlled cleanroom environment that requires the use of a full-body gown, over-boots, over-hood, safety glasses, and other PPE. The use of personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials can be expected. Frequent gowning and de-gowning is required. Frequent interruptions, static noise, and alarms (auditory and flashing lights) can be expected.
Physical Demands
- Frequently in a stationary position, often sitting and/or standing for prolonged periods (2 hours)
- Frequently viewing a computer monitor for prolonged periods (2 hours)
- Constantly walking around the Fab for prolonged periods (6 hours)
- Frequently required to push and/or pull 50+ lbs objects, such as carts loaded with FOUPs
- Frequently required to lift 25+ lbs and regularly carry that amount short distances (50 ft)
- Occasionally required to reach, bend, squat, and stoop to handle consumables or chemicals
- May often require repetitive motions involving the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
- Frequently required to handle items using small ranges of motion (e.g., fingers and hands) and large ranges of motion (e.g., full-arms and shoulders) for carrying cassettes and lot boxes
- Occasionally required to wear PPE

Required Education and Experience
- High School degree or equivalent
- Semiconductor Fab operations/manufacturing experience
- Able to effectively process wafers in a flexible development environment
- Basic computer skills, including ability to use Microsoft Excel and Outlook
- Experience with specification (SPC) systems and controls
- Associate or Bachelor degree in an engineering discipline
- 3+ years of hands-on work experience in a manufacturing semiconductor environment
- Experience in an R&D semiconductor environment
- Skills with at least three 8" or 12" semiconductor tool platforms is highly preferred, such as furnaces, etch, CVD, CMP, cleans, photolithography, and/or metrology tools
