This position is responsible for the safe, secure, effective and efficient monitoring and operation of the organization's overall physical plant which includes all HVAC, plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems.

responsibilities:
- Provide supervision of facilities staff.
- Conduct daily/weekly/monthly work planning and review meetings with facilities staff.
- Plan and organize long range assignments for maintenance of the facilities and physical plant.
- Implement and maintain programs for inspection of facilities and documentation of work orders including comprehensive Preventative Maintenance Systems for all fixed and movable equipment and building systems.
- Administer outside maintenance and repair contracts.
- Coordinate inspections with outside regulatory agencies (Fire, Elevator/Escalator, Boiler, Insurance, etc.).
- Develop policies and procedures to monitor and conserve energy consumption and compliance with utility contracts.
- Review operation of purchasing inventory and ensure proper quantities and types of maintenance materials and supplies are on hand in a timely manner.
- Research and recommend equipment, tools, materials and supplies to fulfill needs of Facilities Department.
- Research and recommend continuing education programs for facilities personnel involved in the operation and maintenance of the building.
- Manage department expenses by forecasting quarterly costs.
- Quarterly and Annual budget forecasting will include: labor, materials, supplies, equipment and utility consumption and recommend policies and procedures to promote efficiency.
- Maintain positive working relationships with service contractors, suppliers, utility companies and firms doing business with the organization to promote coordinated services to clients.
- Partner with Human Resources to recruit, interview, select and hire employees that are passionate about the organization's mission.
- Maintain employee work schedules including special assignments, training, vacations, and cover for absenteeism and overtime scheduling.
- Provide oversight and direction to the Team in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures.
- Coach, mentor and develop staff and volunteers.
- Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among the Team that allows for open communication, expeditious conflict resolution, and the appreciation of diversity as well as cohesiveness, supportiveness, and working together effectively to enable each employee and the department to succeed.
- Consistently communicate in a way that embodies the organization's standards and spirit of generosity. Maintain transparent communication. Appropriately communicate organization information through department meetings, one-on-one meetings and regular interpersonal communication.

- Designated as an essential staff member for response to severe weather conditions and emergency situations.
