Growing manufacturer in Detroit is seeking a Customs Analyst to add to their team in the Purchasing and Logistics department. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree, Knowledge of US Import and Export Requirements and Regulations and CBP Audit experience.

Responsibilities:
- Provide necessary support to ensure compliance with US and international regulations and customs entry
- Audit and control import/export transactions
- Identify and classify with high level of accuracy U. S. HTS classification.
- Participate in approved Customs projects, including but not limited to value reconciliation, export compliance
- Identify any possible duty avoidance and recovery efforts related to free trade agreements.
- Create various customs certificates for parts.
- Review and modify existing work instructions and work flows, as required.
- Process Customs broker invoices and Duty Chargeback
- Communicate with custom broker, Internal/external customers regarding any issues relating to shipments.
- Prepare and deliver presentations and updates to management, provide monthly metric reporting as needed.
- Process any accounts payable and accounts receivable related to the customs activities.
- Ongoing monitoring and evaluation of legislative changes that affect imports and exports.
- Performs other and/or special assignments as delegated.
- Bachelor's degree required
- LCB, CCS or CES preferred; otherwise, requirement to pursue these within 2 years from date of hire.
- CBP Audit and Prior disclosure experience preferred.
- 1 - 4years experience in international logistics and export/import compliance professional with knowledge, understanding or exposure of U.S. export/import regulations and related compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with the automotive, electronics, and machinery industries (chapters 84, 85, 87, etc.)
- Knowledge of US Import and Export Requirements and Regulations (19 CFR and EAR, FTR, respectively)
- Excellent oral and written communication for effective reporting to management, customer, and suppliers.
- Excellent interpersonal skills are required.
- MS Office is a must; SAP preferred.
- Willingness to travel to the Toledo, OH Plant as needed
