A Mechanical Engineer is needed for a world leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives in the Pontiac, IL area. Candidate should have Bachelor's degree in engineering and 2-4 years experience required - willing to consider internships as previous work experience.

responsibilities:
- Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test tools, engines, machines and other mechanical devices.
- Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals to determine time and cost feasibility to complete projects.
- Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and make recommendations to maintenance crew.
- Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products using tools, equipment or software.
- To assist area Section Managers with identifying material gaps in flow and constraints to maintain material flow needed for customer demand.
- May also assist in identifying machine issues and help escalate as needed.
- Will also help in walking back quality related issues to help identify root cause and actions needed to prevent future issues.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
- 2-4 years experience required - willing to consider internships as previous work experience.
- Operations Experience with working with Operators, following build plans, and making sure material flows, Excel,MS Access a plus,MRP/ERP system experience.
- Understanding of Material Flow.
- Excellent Communication Skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Self Driven.
- Ability to sit and stand / for long periods of time.
- Ability to walk material flow paths and storage locations for material.
- Ability to support logistics teams with cycle counting within the manufacturing and assembly spaces.
