The right person will have a BS/Masters preferred in Fire Science along with a minimum of 4 years experience to perform studies on structural fire performance, performance of detection & alarm systems, performance of sprinklers, and occupancies other than homes based on incident data, detailed incident information and Global research. This person will provide oversight for NFPA's Fire Incident Data Organization (FIDO) system including deciding types of incidents to be collected in cooperation with the Fire Data Team. responsibilities:
- Perform studies on structural fire performance, performance of detection & alarm systems, performance of sprinklers, and occupancies other than homes based on incident data, detailed incident information and Global research
- Present the results of your studies through data visualization, written content, and presentations
- Provide oversight for Fire Incident Data Organization (FIDO) system including deciding types of incidents to be collected in cooperation with the Fire Data Team.
- Become a super user of NFIRS and NFPA Data systems.
- Usage of structured data sets using software across multiple data sources including Excel, SSPS, SAS or other statistical software
- Identify International Fire Incident data sets of interest and work closely with the Fire Data Manager to integrate these in our analysis.
