Client is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic within the Rochester New York area. Candidates that are interested should have At least three (3) years of experience as a mechanic in a manufacturing or industrial environment along with a High School Diploma or G.E.D. Candidates should be willing and able to work weekends and overtime as needed. Qualified candidates should also possess excellent mechanical and/or electrical skills. Proven mechanical skills must contain most or all of the following:
- Mechanical- troubleshooting/preventative maintenance with industrial processing, packaging, peripheral plant equipment. Ability to read schematics.
- Machining/fabrication/welding-ability to fabricate small machine parts, guards, etc...stick, tig, mig.
- Pneumatic-cylinders/valves/accumulators/compressors/ etc
- Hydraulic- cylinders/valves/accumulators/etc
- Pipefitting
- Ability to read schematics
- Hardwired/relay logic
- Controls-PLC, industrial PC
- High and Low voltage
- Instrumentation
- Motor Drives

responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers, supervisors/managers, and all other employees.
- Responsible for adhering to, and maintaining all ISO 9001 procedures and requirements of the Maintenance function and department. This includes active participation in the internal and external audits for the Rochester plant, when necessary.
- Active member of Process Management Team (PMT).
- Responsible for maintaining and fixing all production equipment within plant facility.
- Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
- Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
- Repairs or replaces defective parts. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
- Lubricates and cleans parts.
- Starts devices to test their performance.
- Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.
- Repairs electrical equipment.
- Performs all preventative maintenance on machinery following a set preventative maintenance (PM) schedule.
- Responsible for housekeeping functions within maintenance shop and work areas.
- Must follow all company work policies and safety standards.
- Responsible for wearing appropriate and required Personal Protective Equipment in designated areas.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by higher management.
