Our client, a world-class manufacturer and packaging operation for food ingredients, is seeking an experienced Plant Maintenance Technician with direct production experience and good mechanical, electrical & PLC/controls troubleshooting abilities to work on Day Shift for their North Dakota manufacturing facility. Qualified candidates will have 3-5+ years of maintenance experience working on production equipment and machinery. Prior experience in a food, beverage or food ingredients environment is preferred, but not required. Competitive wages (pay DOE) and excellent benefits.

responsibilities:
- Design and implement automated systems for use in diverse manufacturing and production environments
- Lead collaborative discussions between leadership and key stakeholders to determine automation capabilities and goals
- Create project plan to guide automation projects from conception to final implementation
- Support existing automation technology with component and process upgrades
- Install, starts up, maintain, and shut down production equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OSHA requirements.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs during machine service.
- Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and adjust equipment as necessary to ensure good working order.
- Perform preventative maintenance functions on machines, equipment, and plant facilities, as directed.
- Participate and comply in the various Quality System programs including GMP/Sanitation, HACCP, FSSC, Safety and Environmental regulations.
- Manage spare parts inventory within the computerized system & parts storeroom
- Coordinate external vendors as needed for equipment and facility installation and/or repairs.
- Recommend plant improvements and aid in the design and implementation of improvements.
