Serves as the Manufacturing Engineering interface for new product launches/introductions, typically collaborating with design engineering or customers.
Creates, implements and maintains methods, sequences and processes in the manufacture or parts, components, and assemblies.
Designs manufacturing line layouts guided by Lean principles.
Identifies process problems that lead to throughput or quality issues, evaluates root cause, and implements solutions to stabilize and/or improve processes.
Creates product assembly work instructions and checklists.
Participates in the selection of new manufacturing equipment.
Gathers, understands and converts customer specifications and data into usable manufacturing information.
Creates and evaluates metrics to drive the quality improvement process.
Develops test processes, test fixtures and specialized tools to automate testing of products.
Drives continuous improvement activities for existing manufacturing lines.
Translates customer requirements into factory activities; creates and documents associated factory support activities needed for product manufacturing and testing.
Defines process problems that lead to throughput or quality issues, evaluates cause of problem, implements solutions to stabilize processes, evaluates results
