Responsibilities
- Research and validate all incoming tax exemption certificates based on state-specific rules and regulations.
- Code and update customer accounts with appropriate tax-exempt status after verification.
- Process tax credits to customer accounts or credit cards as warranted.
- Assist customers in researching and validating tax rates and exemptions.
- Investigate sales tax overpayments and initiate refunds as needed.
- Provide support to sales teams and customers regarding sales tax rules for each state.
- Collaborate with the Tax Manager on sales tax audits and related projects.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental goals.
- 2 years of experience in a business-to-business Accounts Receivable or tax-related environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office, and modern web browsers (Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge).
- Proficient 10-key data entry and excellent attention to detail.
- Communication and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
