job summary: JOB SUMMARY: The UNIX Systems Administrator is part of an Infrastructure team with focus on Linux Red Hat administration utilizing tools such as Satellite and PXE for system deployment and management. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation: Install and support Linux Red Hat systems (version 7 and 8). Install and support Red Hat Satellite. Support and maintain systems automated OS patching utilities (RH Satellite based). Perform hands-on and project tasks associated with major Red Hat OS versions migrations (e.g. v7 to v8).Ensure OS systems are built and maintained according to established standards. Assist with system performance monitoring and perform problem determination for Linux VM and standalone systems. Collaborate in the planning of client/server projects from assessment through design and implementation. Perform periodic on-call responsibilities for UNIX systems.Adhere to and be compliant, as applicable, with GLBA, FCRA, FCPA, HIPAA, CAN-SPAM, UDAP, as well as all other federal, state and local laws, and company policies and proceduresOther duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: Required: 5 to 10 years of experience as a UNIX administrator or UNIX engineer. 3 years minimum experience installing and supporting Linux. Red Hat experience required.In-depth knowledge of Linux network-based build process (e.g. Red Hat PXE).In-depth knowledge and experience managing Red Hat Satellite (versions 6.x)Experience with developing automation processes using automation tools sets including scripting tools (e.g. Puppet, Ansible)Expertise with UNIX Scripting / programming (e.g. Bash, Ruby, Perl, Python).Technical competency with Linux volume managers and file systems (LVM). Ability to diagnose and resolve complex problems involving UNIX server OS, Virtual Machine (VMWare), hardware and software. Good verbal, written, communication and presentation skills. Must be self-motivated and work effectively in a team environment. Desirable experience: Oracle Linux experience.Experience working in an Oracle Database environment.
