Responsibilities
- Compliance & Confidentiality: Safeguards all patient protected health information (PHI) in strict accordance with HIPAA, State/Federal regulations, and hospital policies; ensures an ethical, safe environment for all patients and customers.
- Medical Record Analysis: Analyzes and re-analyzes both paper and electronic records for completeness; utilizes ChartMaxx for deficiency analysis, reporting, and scanning loose filing into the system.
- Physician Liaison: Notifies physicians of records requiring completion per Medical Staff Bylaws and Title 22; provides one-on-one assistance to physicians to facilitate electronic record completion and resolves issues as they arise.
- Privilege Management: Activates and communicates temporary suspension of medical staff privileges for delinquent records; maintains detailed documentation of suspension days for mandated reporting and credentialing needs.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Performs daily counts of pending records and monitors unsigned/refused electronic orders and tasks; utilizes eScription1 for monitoring and lookup functions.
- Quality Assurance: Conducts record reviews based on established criteria; provides data to leadership and completes RLDatix Incident Reports for any potential compensable events identified during review.
- Office Operations: Operates standard equipment (scanners, FAX, computers, phones) and adheres to specific daily productivity standards to ensure efficient department workflow.
