We are looking for a career-minded Senior Accountant to join our expanding finance team in the heart of New Haven. This isn't just a "numbers" role—you will be the guardian of our General Ledger and a key contributor to our strategic financial reporting. Responsibilities

• Month-End & Year-End Close: Leading the closing process, ensuring all journal entries are posted, and sub-ledgers (like AP/AR) are reconciled to the General Ledger.
  
  
• Financial Statement Preparation: Drafting Balance Sheets, Income Statements, and Cash Flow statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  
  
• Technical Accounting: Handling complex areas such as Lease Accounting (ASC 842), Revenue Recognition (ASC 606), or intercompany eliminations if the company has multiple entities.
  
  
• Fixed Assets & Depreciation: Managing the fixed asset lifecycle, including capitalization of equipment (common in New Haven labs/manufacturing) and monthly depreciation schedules.
  
  
• Audit Coordination: Acting as the primary point of contact for external auditors, preparing workpapers, and ensuring internal controls (SOX compliance) are met.
  
  
• Budgeting & Variance Analysis: Comparing actual financial results against the budget and providing "the story" behind the numbers to department heads.
