job summary: A prominent manufacturer and supplier in the packaging equipment industry is seeking a Manager of Production Planning & Purchasing. This position is responsible for the management of the Production Planning & Purchasing team and its activities. This role will be responsible for overseeing the procurement of commodities and/or services to maintain proper levels of inventory for production. The position is responsible for production and inventory planning to ensure the on-time production and assembly of parts and machines. Interface with Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing departments. This is a high prioirty search, salaried in the $110K+ range! Manages the daily operations and personnel of the Production Planning & Purchasing Team ? Creates, analyzes, changes current production planning and purchasing methods. ? Provides training and leadership to team members. ? Manages and maintains the production schedule. ? Oversees the production planning and inventory planning. ? Review bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority. ? Determine product needs and plan/schedule appropriately. ? Maintain procurement records such as items or services, purchased costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories. ? Analyze/adjust inventory planning levels based on the current supply chain environment and production volume. ? Identify and analyze potential vendors. Perform supplier reviews or market analysis of items on a periodic basis. ? Assure that problems relating to delivery, quality or pricing are promptly conveyed to the vendor and resolved in a timely manner per standard procedures. ? Generate reports to analyze planning and production changes; monitor past due and exceptions issues for quick resolution. ?
