Key Responsibilities
- Machine Operation: Operate CNC mills and lathes to produce high-quality parts.
- Quality Control: Learn to use precision tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges) to hold tolerances within $\pm 0.001$ inch.
- Maintenance: Perform routine machine cleaning and coolant management.
- Blueprint Reading: Develop the ability to interpret complex technical drawings.
- Continuous Learning: Shadow senior staff to learn setup procedures and G-code troubleshooting.
- Ambition: A strong desire to move beyond entry-level work into leadership.
- Aptitude: Basic math skills and a mechanical mindset (prior experience with hand tools is a plus).
- Reliability: A track record of excellent attendance and a "safety-first" attitude.
- Education: High school diploma or GED; vocational training in machining is a major advantage but not required.

Responsibilities
- Machine Operation: Load raw materials into CNC lathes or mills and execute pre-programmed cycles to produce precision parts.
- Quality Inspection: Use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, and depth gauges) to ensure parts meet blueprint specifications.
- Blueprint Reading: Interpret technical drawings, symbols, and tolerances to understand part requirements.
- Basic Maintenance: Perform daily machine "housekeeping," including clearing metal chips, checking coolant levels, and lubricating moving parts.
- Tooling Support: Assist with changing dull or broken cutting tools and inserts under the supervision of a senior machinist.
- Part Finishing: Manually deburr parts to remove sharp edges and perform final visual inspections for defects.
- Process Documentation: Accurately log production numbers, material usage, and quality check results in shop software or paper logs.
- Safety Compliance: Maintain a clean workspace and strictly follow PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and OSHA safety protocols.
- Skills Development: Shadow experienced machinists to learn "setups," offsets, and the basics of G-code/M-code programming.
