What You’ll Do As a Quality Assurance Technician, you will be the pulse of the quality department, ensuring that every product meets strict specifications for safety and reliability before it ever reaches a customer. You will serve as a PCQI, maintaining comprehensive food safety programs and ensuring full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Your role is critical in identifying recurring issues through root cause investigations and recommending solutions that keep production moving safely.

Responsibilities
- Drive the daily activity of the quality assurance department by developing, implementing, and maintaining a robust system of reliability testing for all organizational products and development processes.
- Serve as a Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) to support the ongoing development and maintenance of the company’s food safety program.
- Ensure all products strictly adhere to required specifications for quality, function, and reliability by conducting rigorous testing on both raw materials and finished goods.
- Identify and analyze defects or recurring issues using root cause investigation techniques to recommend solutions and maintain detailed corrective action and OFI logs.
- Prepare for and lead internal and external audits to ensure the facility maintains high-level certifications, including SQF, Kosher, Organic, and Non-GMO.
- Oversee supplier quality by specifying requirements for raw materials and performing necessary audits to qualify vendors against organizational standards.
- Record and analyze complex quality data to write and present detailed reports that act as a catalyst for continuous performance improvement across the team.
- Manage the product sample retain area, conduct ongoing shelf-life studies, and perform precision calibrations on thermometers and other critical testing equipment.
- Provide direct support to operations through real-time sample evaluations and empower staff to resolve food safety issues within their scope of work.
