Responsibilities

Equipment Operation & Safety

• Safe Operation: Safely and efficiently operate a forklift to move materials throughout the warehouse and staging areas.
• Daily Inspections: Perform and maintain daily maintenance checks on the forklift. Tag out the lift and notify the Safety or Plant Manager of any mechanical issues.

Workplace Safety: Comply with all work rules, standards, and safety procedures. Report any unsafe conditions immediately and maintain a clean warehouse and dock area.

Material Handling & Loading

• Loading/Unloading: Load and unload delivery trucks (and potentially boxcars) properly, to scale, and secure all loads.
  
  
• Quality Control: Check in all inbound products for accurate counts and identify any quality issues. Ensure all outbound products are in shippable condition.
  
  
• Physical Labor: Carry out manual labor as needed, which routinely includes lifting materials or products weighing up to 55 pounds.
  
  

Inventory & Administration

• Stock Rotation: Stock the warehouse and strictly follow FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures to ensure product freshness and quality.
  
  
• System Navigation: Utilize SAP software to print required documents for loading trucks and ensure ASN (Advance Shipping Notice) labels are correct.
  
  
• Documentation: Use proper bar-coding procedures and ensure all completed paperwork is filed in the correct location daily.
  
  

The essential functions of this role include:

• working in a smoke free environment
• wearing steel toe shoes
• working in a non-temperature controlled environment
