Are you a precision-driven machinist who takes pride in every cut? We are looking for a skilled CNC Machinist to join our Beltsville team. In this role, you won’t just be pushing buttons you’ll be the technical lead on multiple machines, responsible for everything from complex set-ups and program edits to mentoring the next generation of operators. If you have a sharp eye for detail and a deep understanding of technical drawings, we want to hear from you.

salary: $27.5 - $30.25 per hour
shift: Second
work hours: 3 PM - 11 PM
education: High School

Responsibilities

• Perform set-ups and tool changes for multiple machines with different controls in order to execute a sequence of operations such as turn, drill, and bore a variety of metal components.
• Modify, edit, download, and upload programs in order to make multiple parts.
• Perform offset adjustments and utilize proper tooling, such as inserts and cutters, based on print specifications. Interpret technical drawings in accordance with standard shop practices.
• Train and mentor other operators. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Position Criteria: 

• Must be able to use the computer 
• Read and comprehend specifications, engineering drawings and manufacturing routings 
• Position requires exposure to oil, dirt, and heat 
• Must wear safety glasses, ear plugs and steel toed shoes for entire shift

manual lifting up to 35lbs

standing for 8 hours at one time
