Role Summary The CMM Programmer ensures the dimensional integrity of critical aerospace castings. You will be responsible for full-cycle inspection, from programming CMM software to manual surface plate verification, ensuring every part meets strict flight-safety tolerances.
Essential Responsibilities
- Programming: Perform advanced CMM programming using electronic models and CAD data.
- Inspection: Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of castings for blueprint conformance.
- Reporting: Complete First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) per AS9102 standards.
- Manual Metrology: Use surface plates, sine plates, height gages, micrometers, and calipers.
- Quality Standards: Maintain compliance with AS9100 aerospace requirements.
- Expert PC-DMIS Knowledge (Required).
- Proficiency in Virtual DMIS 6.0 and GD&T interpretation.
- Ability to read blueprints and reduced dimension drawings.
- Experience with Polyworks or Bluelight scanning is a plus.
- Must be a U.S. Person (ITAR compliant).

Responsibilities
Core Programming & Technical Duties
- Advanced Programming: You are responsible for programming using electronic models, specifically requiring expert knowledge of PC-DMIS.
- Software Utilization: Operating and programming with Virtual DMIS 6.0 and potentially using Polyworks or Bluelight scanning for 3D measurement.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Reading and interpreting complex aerospace blueprints, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and reduced dimension drawings.
- Dimensional Inspection: Performing visual and dimensional checks on castings to ensure they match blueprint or electronic file specifications.
- First Article Inspection (FAI): Completing AS9102 Forms, which are standard in the aerospace industry for verifying that the first production run meets all customer requirements.
- Manual Measurement: Using traditional "hand tools" and surface plate equipment, including:
- Sine plates, height gages, and radii gages.
- Calipers and micrometers.
- Sine plates, height gages, and radii gages.
- Aerospace Standards: Maintaining knowledge of and adhering to AS9100 quality management requirements.
- ITAR Compliance: Ensuring all work handles sensitive hardware and data according to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (this requires you to be a "U.S. Person").
- General Administration: Using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) to document findings and report to the Operations Supervisor.
