We are seeking an experienced Automation Project Manager to join our clients Biotherapeutics Research team in Ridgefield, CT. This contract role plays a key part in implementing a new automation vision across the lab, managing integration and operation of complex instruments such as Tecan and Hamilton liquid handlers. You'll lead cross-functional projects, liaise with vendors, and drive adoption of lab automation solutions. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in biotherapeutics R&D, hands-on experience with lab instruments, and proficiency with tools like JIRA and Lucid. This is a hybrid position requiring some on-site presence.

responsibilities:
- Lead and manage full project lifecycle for lab automation initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and budget adherence.
- Oversee installation, maintenance, repair, and relocation of lab equipment.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of automation solutions.
- Utilize JIRA and Lucid to plan, track, and report on project progress.
- Facilitate cross-functional communication between research, IT, and engineering teams.
- Continuously assess and optimize performance of automated systems.
qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience managing automation projects in a biotherapeutics research environment.
- Prior experience with liquid handlers and lab automation platforms (e.g., Tecan, Hamilton).
- Proficiency in project management tools such as JIRA and Lucid.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced lab setting.

- PMP certification or equivalent project management credential.
- Experience working directly with external vendors.
- Knowledge of regulatory and quality standards relevant to biotherapeutics research.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail.
