Candidates must have a strong eye for silhouette, form, function and composition to deliver highly optimized hard surface and organic 3D game assets as well as materials, shaders and textures. The candidate should have a strong understanding of modern asset construction processes for game environments including collision, LODs and performance. job summary: Technical FX Artist needed for contract opportunity with Randstad Technologies client in Redmond, WA. The FX Technical artist will work closely with the FX artists, graphics developers, tool developers and QA to help build our FX engine, pipeline and artist workflow. The candidate will help ensure consistently performing FX across several gaming platforms while maintaining visually stunning results. This person would help develop tools for our FX pipeline, maintain and investigate FX performance, and collaborate with other teams to continuously improve the FX workflow. Additionally, the candidate may collaborate with writing shaders, or debugging shader networks. The ideal candidate is a creative person who enjoys technical challenges. Someone who wants to deliver an amazing experience, a team player with strong communication skills that can work with all disciplines and leads. A self-driven individual who is passionate about FX workflow and development. A strong background in linear algebra, lighting and shaders will be key characteristics of the ideal candidate.
