responsibilities:
This Senior level / lead position is for an FPGA engineer with experience in design and verification of FPGAs performing image processing for video display and camera systems. This position requires a background in video or image processing at frame level, but experience on systems with similar level of complexity might be considered. Since this product is going to be used in commercial airplanes, experience in DO-254 or other safety critical standards and regulations is highly desired.
This position requires involvement in all aspects of the design and verification beginning with requirements definition up and through the certification of the product. This position will work with little or no supervision. The primary responsibilities for this position includes:
-- Support the design of FPGAs for commercial and military Head Up Displays, Helmet Mounted Displays, and Avionics Vision Systems
-- Support the architectural design, including the definition of the testing methodologies to certify the products.
-- Participate in the high level design analysis and reviews.
-- Lead the development of the verification plan.
-- Lead the design and development of the test environment(s) / test benches
-- Develop and run functional, CRV assertion and coverage tests using UVM & System_Verilog.
-- Interact with team members from other disciplines and certification authorities (FAA).
-- Support for schedule preparation and reporting of status for the team
-- Oversee efforts and train less experienced designers
The basic qualifications for this role include:
-- At least 5 years of relevant experience in image processing. A degree is not mandatory, but will require a longer experience.
This role supports working remotely, but may require initial travel to Wilsonville, OR to support the initial design brainstorming.

Development Environment: UVM, System_Verilog, Simulation tools (ModelSim or similar)

Leadership Skills:
-- Lead small teams (6~8 engineers)
-- Mentor junior engineers
Required Skills:
-- Experience in real time image processing and algorithms
-- Experience in System_Verilog
-- Experience in verification and certification of highly complex FPGAs
These would be a plus:
-- Knowledge of video transfer protocols (preferable for avionics - ARINC 818)
-- Experience in UVM
-- Good knowledge of DO-254 or other safety critical standard
