The US Commercial Business Technology Solutions is looking for a Data Lake Delivery Engineer who is responsible for the planning, coordination, and successful deployments of US Commercial Data Lake project deliveries and building capabilities across company brands, and functions. Coordinates with IT Business Relationship Managers, Business Consultants, Solution Architects, Technical Leads, Developers, Business Analysts, PMO, business stakeholders, and System Integrator(s) to drive the US Commercial solutions through end-to-end delivery and completion. Works closely with Data and System Integrator(s) to ensure alignment of key project activities and milestones for deployment and solution delivery. Oversees and ensures completion of business and project cut-over activities.

responsibilities:
- Manage the solution delivery team in the planning, design, build and deployment of new projects.
- Drive design activities including data architecture and data models to best meet project requirements and develop a delivery and release plan that is communicated to business stakeholders.
- Understand the technical design sufficiently to be able to accurately estimate levels of effort and needed skillsets at the user story (requirement), epic, and project levels.
- Manage data onboarding of new projects from inception to CI/CD pipeline and strive to automate as much as possible.
- Work with the software development team to integrate DevOps planning into software architecture design.
- Work closely Delivery Leads to implement the Well-Architected Framework for use of build automation and assist building a DevOps culture to realize a modern software development and deployment.
- Manage project execution and IT technical delivery of Datalake projects, providing day-to-day project leadership.
- Manage multiple work streams of IT technical project delivery through extensive, scoping, prioritization, sprint planning and close coordination/cooperation with Business Leads and IT Technical Leads.
- Work closely with Architectures and solutions team on Data assessments and data gap analysis.
- Participate in Quality Reviews of Conceptual Designs, Detail Designs, Detail Test Plans
- Lead technical team meetings, including daily stand-ups to monitor progress of and mitigate risks around the technical build.
- Anticipate and/or identifie blockers to development progress and address them appropriately.
- Drive scope change management processes in an Agile or quasi-Agile development.
- Adjust technical resources as necessary, depending on resource expertise, technical design needs, capacity and availability, and adherence to overall solution plan.
- Create, coordinate, and influence the deployment communication plans, including "Go Live" readiness, change management, cutover, and stabilization.
- Work with Operations team for successful delivery and deployments handoffs.
- Work closely with IT Service Delivery vendor teams to ensure implementation of post-production support model and processes.
- Conduct "lessons learned" with the Project Manager(s) after each deployment to continuously improve the technical delivery model and strategy over the course of the project.
- Perform all activities following company's Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) framework and processes.
- Bachelor's Degree and 7 years of experience; Master's Degree and 6 years of experience; PhD and 2 years of experience in application program development. Experience in the pharmaceutical industry preferred.
- Experience with BigData platform like Cloudera (CDH/CDP), AWS EMR, Hadoop, Spark, Scala.
- Experience with AWS services like EC2, S3, RDS, EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, IAM, etc.
- Experience with Cloud warehouse like Snowflake.
- Proficiency with Agile software development management methodologies.
- Proficiency with DevOps and CI/CT/CD, Azure DevOps CICD automations preferred.
- Experience in managing own and other's work effort including time management, estimation, completion, issue identification & resolution, and status reporting.
- 2 years' experience in leading a team of resources for projects required.
- Experience with projects involving big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Scala, HDFS - EMR, Cloudera, Snowflake, etc.
- Experience with at least one of the data pipeline and workflow management tools: IICS, Azkaban, Luigi, Airflow, Oozie, Autosys, etc.
- Experience with AWS cloud services as a platform and as an infrastructure.
- Understanding of the software development cycle and experience with Agile delivery.
- Problem-solving skills in a very complex area of high volume of transactions, with integration builds a per each application specific needs in the eco system.
- Knowledge of Lean, Agile, Scrum, PMP, etc. standards and processes preferred.
- Must be able to generate, explain, and present detailed schedules, objectives, reports, and other documentation concisely and accurately.
- Data analysis and problem-solving skills.
