Looking for an exceptional PeopleSoft Engineer. They need to be a well-versed expert in PeopleSoft. The justification provided to staff this position is that this engineer will have lead responsibilities and will be backfilling some very senior lead engineers who have since retired. They will also be responsible for on-boarding a whole new instance from the CSBBT LOB into our portfolio and then re-platforming them from LINUX to Windows-so they should be proficient in both operating systems. There is a mainframe component with PeopleSoft as we have instances and databases that reside there. This engineer will need to understand how PeopleSoft operates on both Oracle and DB2 databases. Our application servers are collocated with the mainframe and load-balanced behind F5s. The candidate should have that background and also have Channel Secure experience.
Day-to day responsibilities include: KTLO (keeping the lights on), vulnerability remediation (mainly application and middleware [Tuxedo, JAVA, WebLogic]), current-at-all-times (maintaining latest versions of PeopleSoft and PeopleTools), application patching (DPKs, etc.), business continuity planning and execution, and automation & monitoring of all of the aforementioned tasks. They need to know what DPKs, PUMs and PIs are and be able to support them.
They should be familiar with Splunk and ITRS Geneos and Big Panda for monitoring.
They should be familiar with Ansible and other automation tools.
Preferred skills would include the following tools: AutoSys, ConnectDirect NDM, MQ, and ElasticSearch. They must have PHIRE experience. There is a similar tool called STAT, but it's not the same. PHIRE experience is critically important.
We are using Cutover for BCP planning and this engineer will be responsible for updating application failover plans in that tool. We need to start leveraging the automation and workflows of that tool, so the more experienced, the better.
This person will be interfacing with application managers and their leadership and must posses the communication and business acumen skills to address the respective audiences appropriately. This is really important.
Since ambiguity is often prevalent, this candidate will need to have the logic, skills, self-motivation and wherewithal to help connect the dots and/or ask the appropriate questions to help bridge any gaps-especially from a technical perspective.
