Overview:
The UX Business Analyst enables change by working with our Business to define their needs and working with our Technology Services teams to recommend User-centric solutions. The UX Business Analyst is responsible for focusing on understanding end users, performing end user research and latest UX best practices from various business teams and provides user interface designs and mockups for various technology teams.
The primary responsibilities of this role include working with stakeholders to understand their business and technical requirements, their current process and environment, and successfully delivering artifacts to support a user-centric approach to user interface design. The UX Business Analyst must be comfortable researching, conceptualizing, designing and delivering applications more usable and user friendly.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze current state and gather information around pain points and new needs from the business stakeholders.
- Investigate current usability and customer/end user experience.
- Categorize requirements gathered into functional requirements and non-functional requirements
- Create deliverables such as process flows, wireframes, mockups and functional prototypes to effectively communicate design strategies and detailed interaction behaviors.
- Oversee and contribute to screen development, based designs that align with user needs.
- Conduct usability testing sessions at the wireframe, wireflow or functional prototype level to validate their user friendliness and intuitive design.
- Become a Subject Matter Expert on a variety of packages and custom business applications including User Experience best practices.
- Go beyond just reading and understanding information, to making sense of it, and finding patterns for improvement.
- 5+ years of prior experience as a Business Analyst or other role such as design analyst or graphic designer.
- BA / BS in IT, computer science, graphic design, information management, business or a related field or equivalent experience.
- strong User Experience background. Comfortable with concepts such as user-centric design, personas, user research and common tools and methods.
- Experience in UX work such as, journey mapping, user flow, usability testing, wireframing, and developing a design system.
- Extensive experience with web application development and knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript or other UI development tools.
- Able to visualize and explain concepts on the fly using a whiteboard or the latest collaboration tools such as Mural as well as have stellar documentation skills with hands on experience with MS Visio for use case diagrams, cross-functional process flows and with Sketch or Adobe XD for wireframes, functional prototypes, user journeys, etc.
