Summary
The Project Manager - Technology serves as an internal project lead for our client's Charitable division, utilizing Agile best practices. This individual consults with the business to understand both business and technology needs in order to solution, develop, implement, monitor and drive project plans and project teams for projects that include technology enhancements. This individual is responsible for ensuring that projects are managed effectively from scoping through close-out.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Utilizing an Agile approach, develops, implements, and manages multiple projects.
- Exercises independent judgement and discretion to identify deliverables, milestones, and tasks for the project(s).
- Plans and integrates schedule, resources, and deliverables.
- Assumes ownership of project(s) from scoping through delivery, and ensures that projects are aligned with departmental and business goals and objectives
- Within business framework, leads solution discovery conversations with cross-departmental and comprehensive IT representation.
- Advocates for and supports overall work prioritization processes (Enterprise Work Ordering).
- Sets up, leads, and facilitates all project team meetings which may include business Product Owners and Subject Matter Experts, various IT representatives, and external vendors
- Communicates with internal clients/business units, team members, management, and IT vendors to ensure requirements and priorities are understood.
- Monitors and documents project progress, and frequently communicates status updates to management, key stakeholders and business clients
- Develops strong, consultative relationships with business units
- Meets with internal clients/business unit leaders to advise on resources, timing, and deliverables.
- Coordinates efforts of team members who are producing deliverables, and helps produce the deliverables as needed.
- Utilizes business and IT resources effectively.
- Proactively identifies, responds to and resolves issues and removes impediments in a timely manner by reviewing the issues with stakeholders, working with the technology team to identify potential solutions, and coordinating the implementation of the solution.
- Partners closely with Scrum Masters to hand over work in expected state and to support throughout development lifecycle
- Ensures team complies with technology policies and procedures.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
- Undergraduate degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Three to five years of professional experience with a minimum of 2 years of project management experience. Experience in an agile environment strongly preferred.
- Intermediate understanding of all business functions, technology needs, tools and other applications that interface with processes so that they can be clearly articulated to, and leveraged for, the business users.
- Detail oriented, organized, timely, dependable, articulate and collegial.
- Produces high quality work under minimal supervision.
- Proven technical skills (Jira, Confluence, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Able to manage work of team members, conflict, deadlines, priorities and a wide range of responsibilities.
- Proven experience leading project teams that include people from different levels, different departments and different comfort levels with technology.
