The Sr. Cybersecurity Engineer will work with a diverse set of industry, government, and academic stakeholders to launch and lead specialized initiatives designed to transform cybersecurity across the industrial base. The ideal candidate will leverage our existing assets, including a supportive consortium of industry and academic stakeholders and a unique manufacturing Future Factory Floor environment, to establish us as a convener of cybersecurity projects and solutions for America's manufacturers. The Sr. Cybersecurity Engineer will assist with internal and external facing cybersecurity initiatives. A successful candidate will possess a solid understanding of the risks and integration issues that may arise during the development, deployment, and integration of manufacturing assets, software, and data systems. This role will report to the Sr. Director of Cybersecurity.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and implementation of our cybersecurity strategy
- Contribute to cybersecurity content creation such as presentations, training materials, and awareness articles.
- Participate in the Cybersecurity Steering Committee meetings comprised of various stakeholders who recommend future cybersecurity R&D efforts and identify and pilot various cybersecurity technologies
- Participate in and present at industry forums, webinars, and other venues related to cybersecurity for manufacturing operations and supply chain
- Keep up to date with emerging cybersecurity threats and best practices
- Interface with our internal team members on organizational cybersecurity best practices
- Engage with member organizations and government partners to coordinate cybersecurity efforts and identify cybersecurity gaps
- Support our Future Factory Floor tours as a tour guide and cybersecurity subject matter expert
- Build relationships with an entrepreneurial mindset and the soft skills required to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders
- Other duties, as assigned
- Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering, cybersecurity, computer science, information systems, or a similar security-related subject required. Advanced or a relevant technical, business, or engineering degree preferred
- 6+ years of experience working with enterprise and manufacturing cybersecurity systems including the development and deployment of policies, standards, and procedures
- Both IT and OT technical certifications are such as CISSP, CISM, GICSP, CSSA, or ICS-Cert preferred
- Expertise in both IT and OT (including Industrial Control and SCADA systems) cybersecurity practices and challenges is required
- Good communication (both verbal and written) and project manage skills
- understanding of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publications on Cybersecurity and risk management e.g. NIST SP 800-53 and 800-171 cybersecurity requirements, as well as familiarity with other standards such as ISA99, Industrial Automation and Control Systems Security and IEC 62443 preferred
- Experience working with the Department of Defense and other government stakeholders is preferred but not required
- Must be available for some travel and to work onsite on an as needed basis
- Ability to work in a highly dynamic environment
