Accounting Manager

We have partnered with a growing company in the Boston North/Southern NH area on an Accounting Manager position. The Accounting Manager will oversee a staff responsible for the accounting function including GL maintenance, Month End Close, Financial Statement prep & analysis, oversee reconciliations, fixed assets and improving processes.

responsibilities:
The Accounting Manager will oversee and direct all financial accounting duties:

  • Ensure timely and accurate accounting and financial reporting for all entities
  • Manage the general ledger
  • Direct the month end close and reporting processes
  • Create and consolidate all financial statements
  • Process improvements; recommend and automate systems
  • Oversee operational accounting functions (AR, AP, Payroll)
  • Manage fixed assets
  • Research and analyze technical accounting matters to ensure compliance
  • Develop policies and GAAP guidance for revenue recognition
  • Work closely with executives to create and implement controls enabling company to scale
  • Coordinate with auditors
  • Ad hoc reporting
  • Special projects
  • Hire, train, mentor and motivate team.
 
qualifications:
The ideal profile will be

  • BS in Accounting (advanced degree preferred)
  • CPA
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in public & publicly traded companies
  • Full cycle accounting knowledge from AP, AR, GL maintenance through fiscal close
  • Financial Statement preparation and consolidation
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and revenue recognition
  • Self motivated with attention to detail
  • Desire to work in a fast paced, growing company with changing priorities
  • Team player
  • Prior supervisory skills
