Tatum by Randstad is teaming up with a commercial real estate investment firm in their search for a new Controller. The client needs someone to oversee all accounting and tax activities including investments, development, corporate and property. This is a very hands on role and the company values and stresses a work life balance. We've been told that a very efficient person can easily do this role in a standard 40 hour work week. Except of course during tax season, etc. This role will eventually become head of the entire Accounting Department.
The company has roughly $5B in assets and is continuing their growth in 2021. Current clients including many Silicon Valley corporations including Facebook and Google.

7+ year commercial real estate and investment accounting experience.
Management experience is required
Active CPA with prior public accounting experience
Partnership, Trust & Individual tax experience is required
Be responsible for directing and overseeing the accounting operations of our clients' companies, including but not limited to:
Establish, monitor and enforce a comprehensive set of internal controls, establish policies and procedures around accounting and financial related issues;
Establish GAAP accounting standards and procedures;
Prepare various monthly and annual corporate financial reports for clients including consolidated financial statements, income statements, balance sheet statements, cash-flow statements, etc.;
Help oversee external audits of client accounting books as required by board or bank mandates and maintain due diligence ready records;
Ensure that financial reports comply with GAAP and established accounting standards and procedures.
Office is located in the Palo Alto area and this is an "in office" position.
