Job Title: Analytical Chemist I

Job Summary

  • The Scientist will generate high quality analytical data for the development and qualification of analytical method and generate and document testing results. Methodology used includes HPLC/UPLC methods including ion exchange, SEC and RPLC methods, UV-VIS, CE and cIEF based methods.
  • He or she will document experiments in a clear, compliant and timely manner
  • He or she will communicate scientific result and plans effectively in presentation, protocols and reports

Job Responsibilities

  • Development and/or optimization of analytical methods using HPLC/UPLC, UV/VIS and CE techniques. Perform method qualification and transfer to GxP testing labs to support in-process, release and stability testing of development, clinical, and/or commercial biologics products.
  • Author and review high-quality technical reports/protocols. Communicate effectively using all forms of communication (verbal, written documents, presentations, etc.)
  • Review and verify scientific experiments and data documented in electronic laboratory notebooks and technical reports. Must be able to independently follow instructions to execute experiments which support method development and routine testing
  • Complete accurate and timely experiment documentation and review
  • Assist with general laboratory tasks including ordering supplies, stocking the lab and instrument maintenance
  • Learn new techniques as required for project support

Education & Qualifications

  • B. S. Degree required in Analytical Sciences, Biochemistry or related field. Master or Ph. D. preferred.
  • Industry experience preferred
  • Experience using Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) using Biacore and other binding methods including biolayer inferometry, ELISA
  • Experience with cell culture and in vitro cell based assays
  • Good documentation skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to read, understand, and follow analytical methods and assess results against criteria
  • Standing or sitting for long periods of time. Approximately 70% laboratory and 30% office work.
  • Manual pipetting - significant use of fine motor skills
  • Flexibility in scheduling to accommodate work load and global time zones may be required
  • Able to assist in equipment maintenance.
  • Receives daily instruction form senior staff. Works within a matrixed team of approximately 15 individuals
