Job Title: Sr. Manager Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting

Position Description

  • This position provides Technical and Transaction Accounting guidance to the various organizations and/or legal entities that TPUSA's Accounting Department supports. This position ensures that the financial accounting and reporting for Company's multi-entity operations that ulitize the TPUSA Shared Services are accurate for both US GAAP and IFRS reporting. This position also assists with coordinating the external audit.
Position Responsibilities

  • Technical Accounting

    • Interprets New Accounting policies issued by TPC, CCO and/or Authoritative Accounting Bodies and determines impact to TPUSA from both a financial as well as operational standpoint.
    • Interpret and respond (via white paper documentation) to complex technical accounting theories to top management and auditors.
    • Responds to technical accounting related inquires from TPC,CCO, and other Company affiliates.
    • Drafts/Leads Technical Accounting Memo documentation for significant Accounting Estimates.
    • Financial Reporting & International Accounting
    • Prepares US GAAP and IFRS consolidated financial statements and footnotes for TPUSA and other Company affiliates that are supported by the Shared Service model
    • Responsible for ensuring that proper transfer pricing and reimbursements are executed between company and its foreign affiliates
    • Executes and determines proper accounting for international Advanced Pricing Agreements between government tax entities
  • Corporate Audit

    • Manages aspects of the financial audit through direct interaction with external audit partner, manager and engagement team.
    • Personnel Management.
    • Is responsible for overseeing one to two Financial Accouting Analyts. Analayst responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Inventory Accounting, Product line P&L reporting, Cash, Fixed Assets, Daily Sales Reporting, Intercompany Billing, Long-Term Incentive Accounting, Fringe Planning/Actuals, etc.
Position Requirements

  • Education & Experience - Required:

    • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.
    • CPA required (Certification only, license not required)
    • A minimum of 8 years of overall business experience, with a minimum of 3 years of public accounting from a large public accounting firm.
    • Accounting - understanding of complex accounting concepts for both US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) as well as International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Familiarity with the differences between US GAAP and IFRS.
    • Previous experience managing teams and people
  • Knowledge and Skills, required:

    • Problem Solving - ability to identify problems associated with and application and provide specific solutions that resolve the problem
    • Organization - ability to maintain accurate and detailed records, files, etc.
    • Attention to Detail - ability to thoroughly analyze and identify key data points which impact the establishment and maintenance of new and existing accounts
    • Business Leadership - confidence, decisiveness and a willingness to listen to influence as well as engage other sin the accomplishment of functional goals
    • Communication - ability to communicate ideas and data both verbally and written, in a persuasive, organized and appropriate manner, including running meetings and preparing presentations for executive audiences
    • Management - ability to set priorities for a team and meet specific deadlines in a changing environment. Ability to be flexible, accommodating, and to deal with change effectively.
    • Analytical Skills - ability to analyze a wide variety of scientific data, financial figures and market research data to assist the Business Development department in making strategic decisions surrounding in-licensing/out-licensing and business acquisitions
    • Teamwork - ability to foster good working relationships among team members, and work effectively in and contribute to a team environment
  • Knowledge and Skills, preferred:

    • Previous in a financial accounting or audit function preferably for a company with a foreign parent company
    • Knowledge of SAP and Financial Accounting Research software
    • Product or Business valuation experience.
    • Pharmaceutical Industry knowledge

    • CPA required (Certification only, license not required)
    • Occasional domestic and/or international travel will be required.
