Sr. Specialist, Supply Chain/Production Planning

job summary:
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all time lines related to the supply chain (i.e., all departments and processes involved in the manufacturing of goods such as procurement, planning, warehousing, and production) are adhered to and proceed in an efficient manner. Designs master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders. Monitors lead time, capacity constraints, and late orders. Regulates inventory levels for all processes in the production operation and supply chain.

responsibilities:
  • Ensure timely manufacturing and shipment of all assigned products
  • Leads interactions with customers, ensuring that they receive an exceptional level of service, managing their expectations as needed
  • Mentors Buyer/Planners in their daily activities
  • Monitors production performance vs. plant and divisional goals, provides timely feedback to appropriate personnel
  • Utilize SAP, shop floor systems, Excel, and other information systems in the scheduling and planning of manufactured products
  • Advise marketing and manufacturing groups of anticipated problems and develop alternatives to ensure effective disposition of delivery related problems
  • Act as a liaison for manufacturing and customers, assuring that information is gathered and disseminated in a timely and accurate fashion
  • Become involved with process improvement projects as needed
  • Develop processes that will assist in the successful execution of the schedule
  • Deploy cost savings initiatives throughout the supply chain
  • Confers with vendors to obtain product or services information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule
  • Analyzes material shortages/overages regularly and determines optimal inventory levels
  • Analyzes materials that are high value, critical to the process, and have a short shelf life
  • Assists Supply Chain Manager in the deployment of high-level strategies into the production environment
 
qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, or, relevant field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in production planning using advanced MRP system within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with SAP required
Preferred:

  • Advanced knowledge of MRP software
  • Advanced understanding of BOM structures, routings, and MRP tools
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability t create macros, v-lookups, and pivot tables
  • APICS certificated preferred
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Detail oriented with exceptional time management and multi-tasking ability
  • Proven ability to develop reports and analyze data to initiate problem solving
  • Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description
  • Support and contribute in Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set target
  • Able to comply with the company's safety policy at all times
  • Able to comply with the company's quality policy at all times.
