Requirements for the Technician
- Laboratory Technicians serve in support of Transmission and Generation and third party interests, performing a variety of independent, non-routine, and more complex quantitative analyses using sophisticated laboratory instrumentation.
- The Lab Technician Associate performs the preparation oil samples prior to analysis and performs a variety of technical duties requiring limited independent analyses, organizing work, and learning to make analytical decisions based on quality control results and trends.
- The Technician Associate must have excellent computer based skills required to work with laboratory software, equipment asset database, and be competent in Microsoft Office.
- Associate's degree in Science in Chemistry, Industrial Hygiene, or Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology. Excellent computer based skills required to work with laboratory software, AEP's equipment asset database, and be competent in Microsoft Office.
