Human Resources Manager

Permanent position: Leading manufacturer is looking to hire an Human Resource Manager for their plant in the Portage, Indiana area. The ideal candidate will possess human resource management experience in a non-union environment with union avoidance who develops partnerships with plant leadership who acts as an employee champion and change agent. The HR Manager will drive the organization development process, serves as an employee advocate, manages employee relations and communication and ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and corporate requirements. This role comes with an excellent compensation plan commensurate with experience ranging from $80k to $90k. All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US

Responsibilities for the Human Resources Manager
  • Ensure consistent application of all corporate and plant policies and practices, communicates HR programs and policies to plant staff and address all related questions
  • Contribute to the business objectives by helping business leaders identify, prioritize and build organizational capabilities, behaviors, structures and processes
  • Provide expert advice and coaching where appropriate and ensure strong leadership and coaching culture permeates the organization
  • Assist the business leader to provide employees with development opportunities and ensure current and future performance standards are met
  • Oversee recruitment, orientation, training, transfers, job postings, and terminations for all positions and in compliance with OFCCP regulations
  • Administer the local Workers Compensation program and maintain relationship with company and panel health care providers
  • Manage the EH&S facility reporting per corporate requirements and participate in the plants EH&S system
Requirements for the Human Resources Manager

  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • HR Management experience in a manufacturing environment is required along with employee relations experience and OSHA knowledge
  • Experience with standard HR concepts, practices and procedures
  • Advanced knowledge of employment law
  • Demonstrated exposure to OSHA reporting, regulations and compliance
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US
