Director

Permanent position: EPC Client in Houston is looking for a Director of Project Controls to join their team. You need 10-15 years of project controls experience supporting large, heavy industrial plant (power plant, refinery, petrochem, gas processing, etc...) EPC projects. You will lead and direct the project controls team in North America across multiple regional offices. Excellent opportunity! High visibility in the company world wide!

Responsibilities for the Director
  • You will lead a team of Project Cost Engineers, Project Schedulers & associated Supervisors in support of large, heavy industrial plant EPC projects throughout North America
  • Coordinate department activities to achieve timely delivery of project control support/deliverables
  • You will lead your team with planning on these projects to support optimal staffing plans and resource allocation
  • You will support large, complex, global EPC 'work share' projects that involve a global mindset
  • You will establish all Project Control policies, ensure compliance and verify appropriate work instructions are created and/or modified for ISO Quality and SOX requirements
  • You will be responsible for managing the department budget and controls expenses
  • You are expected to hire, train, develop, and appraise your project controls staff effectively
  • You will be expected to meet with the Executives within your company on a regular basis to discuss all things related to project controls activities on all projects
Requirements for the Director

  • You need 10-15 years of project controls experience supporting large, heavy industrial plant (power plant, refinery, petrochem, gas processing, etc...) EPC projects
  • You need at least 5 years of experience managing a project controls department to include both Project Schedulers and Project Cost Specialists within an EPC company
  • You do not need to be an 'Expert' at project scheduling & project cost analysis, but you need to have some hands on experience with both in support of large EPC projects
  • You should have experience supporting EPC projects valued above $50 million and ideally up to $1+ billion
  • You need a BS degree ideally in Business Administration, Engineering or Construction Management, but all degrees will be accepted
  • The ideal candidate has experience working for a large company that is also global and has experience working on both 3rd party and work share type projects
